Kenjutsu Under the Stars of Lipac VII

Posted on Categories Uncategorized
For the seventh time, the Dojo for classical Japanese martial arts Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo, supported by the Organization dedicated to the study of traditional Japanese martial arts – Taiyou e no Michi, organizes the traditional outdoor seminar titled „Kenjutsu Under the Stars of Lipac“.

This event is organized yearly during the first or the second weekend in June, honoring our Daito ryu Aikibudo teacher – shihan Antonino Certa.
During this two day seminar, the members of Daito ryu Macedonia and Taiyou e no Michi practice the techniques of the school Ono ha Itto ryu (Takeda-den). This powerful sword-fighting art in the past was mandatory for all members of the well-known samurai clan Takeda. Because of its simplicity and efficiency, the school was one of the two official kenjutsu arts that were taught by the members of the Japanese shoguns from the clan Tokugawa.
The members of our dojo await this event every year impatiently. During the two-day outdoor training on the top of the mystical mountain Lipac, the students despite their levels have the opportunity to socialize and get better acquainted.
During the days we will have three training sessions, and the night will be reserved for socializing around the camp fire, accompanied by tasty beans and some beers.
Date: 11th/12th June, 2016 (departure from Skopje in 07.00)
Location: under the stars of the mountain Lipac
Equipment: a sleeping bag, keiko gi, kyahani or tall socks (against ticks), bokuto (you can take a spare one too), food and water.
For additional information call our phone number 075 564 011.
This seminar is open for all, regardless of their style or art.
If you need equipment, inform us on time.
This event will be carried out regardless of the weather conditions.

Intensive May seminar for Daito ryu Aikijujutsu held

Posted on Categories Uncategorized

The intensive May seminar was organized this past weekend in the Hombu Dojo of the Organization „Taiyou e no Michi“.

As it’s already known, Daito ryu Macedonia organizes every month one intensive weekend seminar where the instructor Dovezenski teaches his students to the techniques of this old and noble samurai art.
On the last event, the beginners had the opportunity to get acquainted with the kata from the first set (Ikkajo), whereas the advanced members also practiced the techniques from the second set known as Nikajo.
As on every intensive seminar in the main dojo of „Taiyou e no Michi“, Dovezenski shared his knowledge selflessly, whilst explaining the tiniest details about the school. Sure enough, the students had the opportunity to ask questions at all times, that were immediately answered by the instructor.
At the end the next seminar was set to be held at the end of June. We invite you to join our training.

Seminar with teacher Antonino Certa held

A three-day Aikijujutsu seminar lead by the only non-Japanese shihan for this art – Antonino Certa from Italy was held in the Hombu Dojo of „Taiyou e no Michi“, which was organized by Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo.
Seven members of the Koryu Dojo – the only one in Macedonia and on the Balkans where you can train the classical samurai school Daito ryu Aikijujutsu, took part in the event.

Before the official start of the event, the teacher Certa transmitted two new kata to his student Dovezenski from the school Takeda-den Ono ha Itto ryu Kenjutsu, and afterwards started teaching the advanced variations of the kata from the first set of Daito ryu (Ikkajo).
On Saturday and Sunday, the shihan taught all of the kata from the section Sankajo, or the ten forms of Idori and the ten forms of Tachi Ai from the third set.

Sensei Certa impressed with his deep knowledge of the school, especially remarkable were the details that he shared selflessly with the participants, where he explained with great love the performance of each kata by his three

Japanese teachers. During the breaks, as always, he tried to transfer to his student Dovezenski, as much knowledge as he could from the history of the art, as well as from the development of the organization Daitokai itself.
The scarce free time was used to visit cultural and historical monuments of the city of Skopje, and the visit to the „Laboratory of the Eastern Cultures“ represented a special honor to Sensei Certa, where he participated to the class held by his personal student.
During the farewell formal dinner, the shihan Certa confided to Dovezenski his plans to start writing his second book dedicated to Daito ryu Aikijujutsu soon, but for now we are unable to share more details about the title and the subject of it.
At the end, we would like to thank our teacher for Daito ryu and his sharing of the art to the members of our dojo, and we are awaiting impatiently his next seminar that is already set for the next year.

Once again the February seminar for Daito ryu Aikijujutsu was held in the Koryu Dojo in Skopje. Beginning next month, the monthly seminars are going to be relocated to the Hombu Dojo of Taiyou e no Michi, in the valley under the mountain Lipac.
This time the event’s theme was Hanza Handachi from the set Nikkajo. Instructor Dovezenski taught and explained in detail all five kata, where the students carefully repeated them with devotion. In order to check the level of knowledge and the progress of the members of the Koryu Dojo, the last hour was reserved for repeating the kata from the first set (Ikkajo).
We are closing in to the date when our Teacher, Antonino Certa, is going to visit our country again in order to share part of his deep knowledge for this old and noble samurai art.
