Participation at the International seminar for Ono ha Itto ryu in Italy with Soke Sasamori Takemi

Posted on Categories Uncategorized

The instructor of Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo, Igor Dovezenski, took part in the International seminar for Ono ha Itto ryu Kenjutsu last week, which took place in Italy under the guidance of Soke Sasamori Takemi. This event counted around 40 participants from Germany, Italy, America, Belgium and Ireland.

The seminar was held in the sports hall in the city Gradara, not far from Pesaro. Sasamori Soke was accompanied by his students Asai Sensei and Ishizaki Sensei from Japan, that restlessly corrected the participants’ mistakes and selflessly transmitted their knowledge. Sasamori Soke, who is the 17th heir of Ono ha Itto ryu, after demonstrating each kata explained the most important details that needed to be applied in the technique itself.
Regarding the organization, we must mention the host’s generosity and commitment in every way. Their hospitality was evident in every step, and a special thanks to the organizer of the seminar Roberto Foglietta, as well as his student, Klaudio Cenni.

Kenjutsu under the stars of Lipac VI

The School of classical Japanese martial arts Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo, with the support of the Organization for teaching traditional Japanese martial arts – Taiyou e no Michi, for the sixth time organizes the traditional outdoor seminar, called „Kenjustu under the stars of Lipac“.
This event is held once a year during the first weekend of June, in honor of our Daito ryu Aikibudo teacher – shihan Antonino Cherta.
During the two-day seminar, the members of Daito ryu Macedonia and Taiyou e no Michi, are going to practice the techniques of the school Ono ha Itto ryu (Takeda-den). This powerful swordsmanship art, was mandatory for all members of the famous samurai clan Takeda in the past. Due to her simplicity and efficiency, the school was one of the two official kenjutsu arts that were taught by the subjects of the family of the Japanese shoguns of the clan Tokugawa.
The members of our dojo anticipate this event impatiently. During the two-day outdoor training, at the top of the mythical mountain Lipac, the students of all degrees have the opportunity to get to know each other better.
Throughout these days, three trainings will be held, and the evening will be reserved for socializing around the camp fire, accompanied with tasty beans and some beers.
Date: 13st/14st June, 2015 (departure from Skopje at 07.00)
Location: under the stars of the mountain Lipac.
Equipment: sleeping bag, keiko gi, tights, kyahani or tall socks (against ticks), bokuto (spare one is good too), food and water.
For additional information contact us by our phone +389 77 976 906.
The seminar is open for all, regardless of their style or art.
If You require equipment, inform us on time.
This event is going to be organized regardless of the weather conditions.

The seminar with shihan Antonino Certa held

Posted on Categories Uncategorized

The past weekend, in great atmosphere and with much training, the yearly seminar with Shihan Antonino Certa was held. As every year, he transmitted us new techniques and principles that we have to practice until our next meeting.

Although at first we had announced that this year we were going to practice kata from the set of Sankajo, at the last moment Sensei Certa changed his mind and decided to teach us kata from all levels of Daito ryu Aikijujutsu through applications (Oyo Waza) of defense from the technique Gyaku Yokomenuchi.
Regarding Ono ha Itto ryu Kenjutsu (Takeda-den), we were lucky this year to have Sensei transmit the technique Kiri Otoshi, that is considered to be the core of the school. At the same time we repeated the techniques that we had learned so far.
As always, the free time was used for long conversations with Sensei about the history of Daito ryu and the time he trained with his teachers: Sensei Tokimune Takeda, Sensei Kato, Sensei Arisawa, and Sensei Sano. We didn’t leave out the visit to the legendary local grocery store „Kaj Dacko“, where we were hanging out with the locals where our Hombu Dojo resides.
During this event, we should mention that the instructor Igor Dovezenski earned nidan, whereas Marko Opachikj earned a shodan and new title „fukushidoin“.
We have already planned the next seminar for the next year.

The Intensive Winter seminar, that lasted for six weeks, was successfully finished this Sunday in the Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo with a testing for higher student degrees.
During this event, the participants had the oportunity to practice the basics of Atemi Waza, as well as every kata from the first set, known under the name ikkajo.
As we previously mentioned, at the end, four of the students successfully earned a higher degree, where Zoran T. and Dragana L. earned the sixth, while Todor A. and Monika Sh. earned the fifth kyu.
In the following year it is our wish to progress in Daito ryu Aikijujutsu even further, and to be even more devoted to this wonderful and noble samurai art.
