Yesterday in the dojo of the Organization „Taiyou e no Michi“ in Skopje, we had the last seminar for Daito ryu Aikijujutsu for 2015.
During this event the participants were divided in two groups, where the first practiced the techniques from the 6th kyu testing program, and the second group was consisted of advanced students that practiced the kata from the first set (Ikkajo) from the 118 secret techniques (Hiden Mokuroku) of this art.
While the beginners were successfully repeating the basics of the body movements, as well as the ways of an attack, the advanced practitioners fortified their knowledge earned from the previous years. Their progress was evident in every way.
Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo had a very successful year. Even though there aren’t many members that train this samurai martial art, they are really dedicated to it.
During 2015 we had total of seven seminar where the instructor Dovezenski transmitted his knowledge of the school. In April we organized the traditional yearly seminar with the teacher Antonino Certa, where he taught us several new techniques from the art. On this event the instructor Dovezenski received second dan (Nidan) from the teacher Certa, whereas our member Marko Opachikj received the title fukushidoin , and he was promoted to first dan (Shodan).
In June, we held the traditional Ono ha Itto ryu (Takeda-den) seminar, titled „Kenjutsu under the Stars of Lipac“, that we always organize in honor of our teacher Certa, and a week before Dovezenski attended the International seminar in Gradara (Italy) under the leadership of the heir of Ono ha Itto ryu Kenjutsu – Soke Sasamore Takemi. For those who had not heard of this samurai sword-fighting school, in the past it was mandatory for all samurai from the Takeda clan, and thanks to this school you could more easily understand the principles of the art Daito ryu Aikijujutsu.
The next seminar with the instructor Dovezenski is already scheduled for January, and Sensei Certa is going to teach again in Macedonia in April (2016).
