Posted on Categories Uncategorized

On exceptionally cold weather with temperatures below zero in the dojo, the instructor Dovezenski held the first seminar in the new 2016. Even though the windows, the water in the bottles, and our feet were frozen solid, none of the participants complained even once about the conditions we had during the training.

During the event, Dovezenski taught nine techniques of the second set of Daito ryu Aikijujutsu (Nikkajo), more precisely he taught the kata: Kote Zume, Gyaku Dasuki, Hiji Kijiki, Koha Gaeshi and Shuto Zume from Idori, as well as Gyaku Dasuki, Hiji Otoshi, Kubi Nage and Suso Barai from Tachi Ai.
The next Daito ryu seminar with the instructor Dovezenski will be held on 14th of February.

Yesterday in the dojo of the Organization „Taiyou e no Michi“ in Skopje, we had the last seminar for Daito ryu Aikijujutsu for 2015.

During this event the participants were divided in two groups, where the first practiced the techniques from the 6th kyu testing program, and the second group was consisted of advanced students that practiced the kata from the first set (Ikkajo) from the 118 secret techniques (Hiden Mokuroku) of this art.

While the beginners were successfully repeating the basics of the body movements, as well as the ways of an attack, the advanced practitioners fortified their knowledge earned from the previous years. Their progress was evident in every way.
Daito ryu Macedonia – Koryu Dojo had a very successful year. Even though there aren’t many members that train this samurai martial art, they are really dedicated to it.
During 2015 we had total of seven seminar where the instructor Dovezenski transmitted his knowledge of the school. In April we organized the traditional yearly seminar with the teacher Antonino Certa, where he taught us several new techniques from the art. On this event the instructor Dovezenski received second dan (Nidan) from the teacher Certa, whereas our member Marko Opachikj received the title fukushidoin , and he was promoted to first dan (Shodan).
In June, we held the traditional Ono ha Itto ryu (Takeda-den) seminar, titled „Kenjutsu under the Stars of Lipac“, that we always organize in honor of our teacher Certa, and a week before Dovezenski attended the International seminar in Gradara (Italy) under the leadership of the heir of Ono ha Itto ryu Kenjutsu – Soke Sasamore Takemi. For those who had not heard of this samurai sword-fighting school, in the past it was mandatory for all samurai from the Takeda clan, and thanks to this school you could more easily understand the principles of the art Daito ryu Aikijujutsu.
The next seminar with the instructor Dovezenski is already scheduled for January, and Sensei Certa is going to teach again in Macedonia in April (2016).

Sunday mini-seminar in Skopje held

Posted on Categories Uncategorized

On Sunday a four hour mini seminar for aikijujutsu was organized by the Koryu Dojo of Daito ryu Macedonia. On this seminar 10 members of the Organization „Taiyou e no Michi“ participated, who restlessly absorbed the knowledge for this noble Japanese samurai martial art.

The instructor Igor Dovezenski taught techniques from the first set of the first level (ikkajo), but this time a little bit differently. To further explain, each of the kata was transmitted and practiced in its original form, and afterwards only the attack of the opponent was modified. We did this so the participants could have another perspective of the art, and at the same time to understand the essence of the technique on a deeper level.
At the end, it was agreed to have several of these mini-seminars until the end of the year.

The October intensive Daito ryu seminar held

The October intensive Daito ryu seminar gathered again on one place the members of the „Koryu Dojo“ of the Organization „Taiyou e no Michi“.

As always, the training was carried on with such an intensity, without holding back physically, nor mentally, and that was a pointer that the material of the set Ikkajo is being learned better.
During the second day, we trained intensively the kata from the second set (Nikkajo), and a great surprise was the fast improvement of our member Darko Nedelkovski, who with his dedication quickly won the sympathies of the older students.
During free time the instructor Dovezenski was sharing with the students stories of the training with Sensei Antonino Certa in Italy, as well as for several events that are connected with this great man and teacher.
After the seminar ended, on the internal Forum on „Taiyou e no Michi“ the instructor Dovezenski wrote the following:
„When it was the hardest for me and when I didn’t have any conditions to train Daito ryu Aikijujutsu. When I didn’t have any financial support or any kind of support from anyone – I DIDN’T GIVE UP! Not only that I NEVER give up, but this was due to one wonderful man called Antonino Certa. My Teacher for Daito ryu Aikijujutsu.
And I succeeded. I created the Koryu Dojo. I rose it from the ashes. A stable and serious group of students was formed, even though it was small, it’s in love with this old and noble martial art.
And that’s not all. For the love and the respect that I have for Sensei Certa, and for my guilty conscience that I don’t do enough for HIM, I got the art of Daito ryu in in the formal teaching program at the University „Cyril and Methodius“. I understood yesterday that students from other faculties want to choose the subject that carries out Daito ryu training.
And you should know Sensei Certa, I will not stop here. Nor me, nor my (yours) students from Macedonia. We will train „your“ art and carry out the tradition of your teacher Tokimune Takeda as long as we live!“
